hello guys, i am Brownie~ am i cute?

7-year-old boy

A mom brought her 7-year-old boy to our office for English assessment this morning. After about 15 minutes of testing we came out of the room but his mom was gone. So the boy kept asking me where his mom was and I told him maybe she went to the restroom. After about 15 minutes, mom didn't come back. Nobody knew where the mom was or where she went. I gave the boy a lollipop and a spinning toy to play to keep him busy. Then we started to talk. It was very interesting to talk to kids. They are so innocent. While I was talking to this boy, Janice called me on my cell phone.

boy: who called you?
me: my sister.
boy: oh..Your sister?
me: yup, guess how many sisters I have?
boy: um..two?
me: how do you know! I have two sisters, one big sister and one little sister. Do you have sister?
boy: no
me: how about brother?
boy: yeah. But he is far away.
me: he is far away?! How old is he?
boy: I don't' know. He is far away. I don't see him. My daddy's son, his name is Kent. I don't' know if he is my brother.

This is just part of our conversation. I felt kind of sad for this boy. He'd been to several different schools for the past four months. I guess his family moved from place to place and I could see the confusion in him that caused by his parents. Well, later we called his mom and found out that she went to the bank. So the boy and I had plenty of time playing tick-tack-toe & checkers. We had fun~ =)

Surprise~

I had an incredible weekend full of surprises~ As I mentioned on my blog couple weeks earlier, January is the month ishyjo and I started dating so it's our anniversary month. ishyjo has started his mini-series of our story on his website. To some of you, reading his mini-series is like watching the soap operas. heehee~ I love reading the mini-series everyday even though I already know the script of all the stories. I know ishyjo did the mini-series for me to celebrate our anniversary but little did I know he prepared even bigger surprises for me over the weekend.

Las Vegas. Yes, we spent the weekend there. On the second day of the trip, ishyjo turned on his laptop and asked me to sit down in front of the laptop. I was like huh?? He said he'd prepared something for me. All of the sudden, I was nervous and had the "fear" that he was going to pop the question. (heehee, he did NOT). He made a slideshow for me. With the background music, pictures, and the words he wrote, I was very touched. He bought a shirt for me and I really like it. The big surprise was the tickets to the "O" show by Cirque du Soleil at Bellagio. Unbelievable!!!!! ishyjo knew I wanted to watch it. I was sooooo happy and excited!!! =) We spent the entire afternoon shopping in the rain at the Vegas outlet and ishyjo also bought me a dress from maxstudio. Later, We had dinner at Cool Place Cuba Cafe. We really enjoyed the romantic atmosphere and yummy Cuban foods there. What a cool place~ after dinner, we went back to Bellagio for the "O" show. Guess what! We sat in the second row of the center stage. This is the best show I've ever seen!! This show was stunning and amazing with artists in, on and above a pool of water in a variety of performances. Creative. Unique. Splendid. =)

I feel so loved and spoiled. I'd been treated like a princess!! ishyjo is so sweet to me.

thank you hunnie! @#$^&)_++&*^$#+!!#~?<>{}^!@#

I think I am a mean girl. I should say, I think I am a mean girlfriend. I don't know what's wrong with me. PMS? Hormonal turbulence? I have those psychological & behavioral symptoms, like poor quality of sleep, mood swings, over-sensitive, irritability, anger...etc. Maybe it's just the weather! =P

STOP raining!!!

I was still awake at 4 am last night. I guess either I had too much tea yesterday or there were too many things on my mind. I was thinking about all the people I've met along the way.

I am having a hard time picking the font I want to use for my blog. There are only a few choices and it looks so different after I post my blog. What can I do??

I watched "Amazing Race" last night and happened to find out that Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer of that TV show. Very interesting! Jerry Bruckheimer is also the producer of my favorite TV show, CSI, the current #1 show on TV. I know he'd filmed a lot of movies so I was searching to see what movies he had produced. It's amazing that Jerry Bruckheimer made numerous popular movies. I like most of his movies, such as Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, Gone in 60 Seconds, Enemy of the State...etc. He keeps the story moving and has his own creative style of visual effects. =)

Brownie~

Ahhhh...I was 30 minutes late to work again this morning. Traffic is pretty bad everywhere on this raining day. Well, actually I left my house a little bit late because of Brownie. Who is Brownie you ask? Brownie is a little cute baby dog pinkybaby brought home last night. I saw Brownie this morning in pinkybaby's room. He is Yorkshire, almost six months old, very hairy haha, and he has black and brownish colors so pinkybaby named him "Brownie". Brownie is shy but he approached me when I saw him this morning. He looks super cute with a shirt on. heeeheee =) I guess my voice is like pinkybaby's, so when I said "sit", Brownie actually sat down, for about 5 seconds. Very obedient and well trained. So I played with Brownie for a little bit and left for work.

Today at work, we celebrated someone's birthday and they made brownies. I haven't had sweets for about a week, plus it was hard to resist when everybody was eating it. So I ate a small piece of brownie. (not the dog) heeeheee =P

Few days ago, I heard the news about a research conducted by a UCSD professor. This professor and his team studied more than 900 women and asked them to rate each moment they experience or each activity they do everyday. The result showed "intimate relations" had the highest score while cleaning the house, grocery shopping and commuting were rated lowest. This sounds like an interesting study. I think women are more sensitive & emotional in general and tend to relate themselves to people & feelings, not things. My advice for those who are too busy to spend time with your love ones, "spend quality time with them! Show them you do care!!" =)

Tuesday night, our worship team went to uncle James' house for practice. He has an electronic scale and as I stood on it to weigh myself, I was very very very surprised that I've gained so much weight. BOOOO~ so I decided to cut my meal portion and no sweets from now on. I love to eat and I can eat a lot. I think it was on Monday, I had 4 or 5 scoops of ice cream with root beer in the afternoon and then two waffles with ice cream on top before I went to bed. HORRIBLE! That's very unhealthy. So yesterday, ishyjo and I had lunch at Fresh Choice. Now I am trying to eat less than I used to and drink green tea and water instead of soda. It's so difficult!! My mouth feels "itchy" and wants to have snacks so bad. I know I need to exercise too but I will start with my diet first.

I went to SOP's Wednesday Night Worship (WNW) yesterday. Mary shared the message about "The Doer of the Word." She started a true story of a 10-year-old girl named, Tilly Smith. She saved her family and many tourists from the deadly tsunami because she studied tsunami in her class few weeks ago. She was vacationing in Thailand with her family when the wave rushed out & began to bubble. Tilly recognized the signs that tsunami was minutes away. She explained to her mom and they informed their hotel, which was quickly evacuated. Many were saved because of this girl. We all have a lot of knowledge in our heads just like we know the teachings of God. It's easy to hear the Words but a challenge to put them into actions. God says everyone who hears His words and put them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. We will be blessed to have solid foundation when we are doers of God's words. =)

Happy Birthday to Lewis!!!! =)

Janice and Will have finally set the date for their big day-- July 31st, 2005. I know some of you want to know where it is going to be but I will keep it as a secret and let the bride & groom send you the formal invitations. As for now, going to attend four weddings this year. I love to attend the wedding cuz' it's the happiest & important moment for the couple and their families & friends. When I see two people are deeply in love, it makes me feel sweet =) It's very interesting to see the designs & colors of invitations, dresses, ceremony, flowers & favors, all those show the styles and personalities of the couple. Janice and Will are very artistic and they want to be unique so they are kind of picky (in a good way) =P

Last Friday night, ishyjo and I went to Stream Of Praise worship, praise & intercession night at Azusa Pacific University. It was awesome to be able to worship the Lord together with brothers and sisters from all different local churches here in the Los Angeles and Orange county areas. My heart once again is deeply touched by God. "I humbly come to seek Your face, come fill me up. I long for Your dwelling place, cleanse me from my sin, come fill me up. Your precious blood washes me. Grace flows down and covers me." ...What an amazing promise.

I watched "Troy" over this weekend. I like this movie but it's a little ridiculous that a woman can ignite a war that will destroy a civilization. heeeheee =P Going to worship practice later tonight. Have a nice week everyone~

TGIF

I was late for work again this morning. I am supposed to get to work at 9 but I was 30 minutes late twice within this week. urr... It usually takes only 15 minutes to my workplace but due to the rain and road construction, I spent 45 minutes traveling 5 miles per hour all the way there.

I had a lot of fun at work this morning because my coworkers and I spent the entire morning decorating our office. We changed the winter wonderland theme into Valentine's Day love in the air celebration. Two of my coworkers even had a "field trip" to Joann to buy the materials. We considered decorating the office an educational project because we want to provide students and parents a lovely environment. I even suggested that we should take before and after photos. Some of you had seen my Christmas office pictures before. Isn't it nice to work in a beautiful office? =)

I didn't know coffee is so popular at 10:30 pm until last night. ishyjo and I went to It's a Grind Coffee House around 9 pm yesterday and the place was packed. We couldn't find a place to sit so we went to Starbucks across the street, still very crowded. Then we headed over to another Starbucks near my house. We were lucky enough to find a table. I was amazed that people came to buy coffee this late. I would say from 10 to 11 was the busiest hour, people kept coming in. While ishyjo was memorizing all those long, hard-to-pronounce drug names, I was observing and wondering why people need caffeine on a Thursday night. For me, I can't have anything with caffeine (green tea, bo-ba milk tea & coffee) in the afternoon, otherwise I will have a hard time falling asleep.

ishyjo

To me, January is a special month. It's the month that ishyjo and I started to "hang out." We've been together for 3 years. Wow... I still remembered back in Jan. 2002, the first time he invited me over to his place and it was a raining day. He cooked dinner for me, my favorite shrimp cocktail =)

I feel ishyjo and I are so different but I think that's how two people complement one another. We make up for each other's weaknesses and bring important characteristics into our relationship. Opposites attract! I think it's very true when it comes to love relationships. That's what makes my life exciting but also irritating =P~ heehee

ishyjo, thank you for the wonderful friendship & love you have given me for the past years~ We've been through so much and I thank God for having you in my life. May God continue to bless our relationship as we walk together in His love. your sweetie =)

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, and He adds no trouble to it.
耶和華所賜的福, 使人富足, 並不加上憂慮~ (箴言10:22)

This Bible verse occurred to me several times these couple days. It was on a small ruler that happened to be on my desk. It was in the Sunday church bulletin for the verse of the week, and tonight I saw it once again as I randomly chose to read Proverb chapter 10 since today is January 10th. It's amazing that this verse keeps popping up.

When I see the starts at night, how my heart is drawn to you.
And their light shines Your grace on me, how I long to be with You.
I lift my voice in praise, I will love You with my life,
for Your beauty and Your goodness never end.
Nothing compares to knowing You, You are the treasure of my life.
Trusting in Jesus Christ my Lord, my richest blessing in the world.
In the valleys or on high, You are with me all the time,
thank You Lord, for the gift of knowing You.

Happy New Year~

Time passes quickly! Happy 2005 everyone~ I haven't updated my blog since Christmas day =) I am so happy and thankful that I had a "fabuloso" winter vacation in 2004.

I had the opportunity to go to a snowboarding trip in Mammoth with brothers and sisters from Church in Rosemead. It was pretty fun. I also got the chance to go to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks with my family and two cousins from Costa Rica. "Fabuloso" is a Spanish word I learned from them heehee =P Really enjoyed God's creation and be with my love ones. I tried snowshoeing for the first time in my life. =) It was an interesting experience and I realized that I really need to exercise on a regular basis =P After we got back from the family trip, we attended Touchlife Mission's winter conference at Costa Mesa. Got encouraged by the words of God and learned a lot through several workshops. I will share about it later on.

For the rest of my vacation, I went to different bridal photography studios with my sister, Janice & brother-in-law, Will. Their wedding ceremony is this coming August. The costs for wedding photo packages are exceptionally expensive. High quality with affordable price is not that easy to find. I think preparing a wedding ceremony is a challenge!!

I celebrated my New Year's Eve at Universal City Walk. It was like a huge party, crazy and exciting! I really thank God for the year of 2004. I think when we all reflect on the past year, no matter what we had gone through, each one of us can say that God's is with us All the time. I pray that Holy Spirit will "regenerate" my life so I will have more passion for Jesus and compassion for others.
