7-year-old boy
A mom brought her 7-year-old boy to our office for English assessment this morning. After about 15 minutes of testing we came out of the room but his mom was gone. So the boy kept asking me where his mom was and I told him maybe she went to the restroom. After about 15 minutes, mom didn't come back. Nobody knew where the mom was or where she went. I gave the boy a lollipop and a spinning toy to play to keep him busy. Then we started to talk. It was very interesting to talk to kids. They are so innocent. While I was talking to this boy, Janice called me on my cell phone.
boy: who called you?
me: my sister.
boy: oh..Your sister?
me: yup, guess how many sisters I have?
boy: um..two?
me: how do you know! I have two sisters, one big sister and one little sister. Do you have sister?
boy: no
me: how about brother?
boy: yeah. But he is far away.
me: he is far away?! How old is he?
boy: I don't' know. He is far away. I don't see him. My daddy's son, his name is Kent. I don't' know if he is my brother.
This is just part of our conversation. I felt kind of sad for this boy. He'd been to several different schools for the past four months. I guess his family moved from place to place and I could see the confusion in him that caused by his parents. Well, later we called his mom and found out that she went to the bank. So the boy and I had plenty of time playing tick-tack-toe & checkers. We had fun~ =)
